Cause

The table that contains the information for the Directory DNS aliases can hold up to 500 characters, but the EVBAadmin webpage has a limitation of 150 characters in the Directory DNS aliases box.

It will appear that more than 150 characters can be entered into the field until the changes are saved.  At the time of saving, the field may not appear to be changed.  Accessing the properties of the customer and checking the field again will show only the first 150 characters.  Saving the properties again may still not show any change but the database will contain the 150 characters.

Workaround:
In the rare case when 150 characters is not enough to hold the entire list of Directory DNS aliases, revert the entries from Fully Qualified Domain Names (FQDN) to the NetBios name.

Resolution

Veritas has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue is present in the version(s) of the product(s) referenced in this article.

There are currently no plans to address this issue by way of a cumulative hotfix or service pack in the current or previous versions of the software at the present time. This issue may be resolved in a future major revision of the software at a later time, but is not scheduled for any release.
