06/02/2010 18:33:25.102[1852]: ~EVMSPConfig::AddEVMSPService: 0x8004010F

Cause

A misconfigured or missing MAPIVSV.INF file does not provide the information needed to be able to select an archive.  There are several instances of this file on the workstation. The instance used by this process should be located in the {Install Drive}\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\vfs\ProgramFilesCommonX86\SYSTEM\MSMAPI\1033 folder.

Resolution

1. On the workstation, open an administrative command prompt and browse to the EV Outlook Add-in installation folder (default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault\EVClient).

2. Execute the following command.
rundll32 EVMSP32.dll,MergeEVMSPWithMAPISVC

3. After running this command, the MAPISVC.INF should display the following entries:
[Services]
EVMSP=Virtual Vault
[EVMSP]
PR_SERVICE_DLL_NAME=c:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault\EVClient\EVMSP.DLL
PR_SERVICE_ENTRY_NAME=ServiceEntry
PR_RESOURCE_FLAGS=SERVICE_NO_PRIMARY_IDENTITY
Providers=MS_EVMSP
PR_SERVICE_SUPPORT_FILES=EVMSP.DLL
PR_SERVICE_DELETE_FILES=EVMSP.DLL
[MS_EVMSP]
PR_RESOURCE_TYPE=MAPI_STORE_PROVIDER
PR_PROVIDER_DLL_NAME=c:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault\EVClient\EVMSP.DLL
PR_RESOURCE_FLAGS=STATUS_NO_DEFAULT_STORE
PR_DISPLAY_NAME=Virtual Vault
PR_PROVIDER_DISPLAY=Virtual Vault Message Store Provider

4. Run a repair install of the Enterprise Vault Client Extensions via Programs and Features.

Optional step:
Copy the MAPISVC.INF file from the {Install Drive}\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\vfs\ProgramFilesCommonX86\SYSTEM\MSMAPI\1033 folder on a working client machine to the same location on the affected client machine.  The 1033 folder corresponds to the English version of this file.  MAPISVC.INF may be located in a folder other than 1033 depending on the language in use by the client operating system.
