Description
Error Message
You do not have permission to access the instance ...
Cause
Accessing a Discovery Accelerator (DA) customer to perform searches, reviews and exports, each user to perform these functions must have permissions to the DA customer through either Application level Role Assignment or through Case level Role Assignment(s) if no administrative actions are to be performed. Application and Case level Roles contain permissions to Allow or Deny specific activities.
This error occurs when the person attempting to log into the DA customer through the DA Client does not have any Application or Role assignment with Allow permissions.
Resolution
This issue is caused by not having permissions in Discovery Accelerator (DA). To add the required permissions, a Discovery Accelerator Administrator needs to determine whether the user requires access to use or administer the DA Customer, including whether the user requires access to one or more Cases.
For access to administer the DA Customer:
1. Log in to the DA Client console as the Vault Service Account (VSA) while choosing the desired DA Customer. Refer to the above screen shot for an example of logging into the CA Client console.
2. Go to the Application tab | Role Assignment sub-tab.
3. Under Users and Groups, add or select the user account that requires access to the DA Customer.
4. Under Assigned Roles, add the appropriate role using the Add Role button at the bottom right corner, then click Save.
For access to one or more Cases:
1. Click on the Cases tab and select the desired Case from the left pane.
2. Click on the Role Assignment sub-tab and add or select the desired user under User and Groups.
3. Under Assigned Roles, add the appropriate role using the Add Role button at the bottom right corner, then click Save.
Notes:
1. Whilst the information above refers to Discovery Accelerator, this information is also applicable to Compliance Accelerator.
2. If the above actions do not resolve the issue, contact Veritas Support for assistance.
Issue/Introduction
When attempting to connect to the Enterprise Vault (EV) Discovery Accelerator (DA) client, a pop-up window is seen with the information below. Acknowledging the information does not allow access to the DA Customer.
In the example below,
1. The DA Customer is called EVBADiscovery.
2. The Server is showing 'localhost' but would show the name of the DA server when accessed from a workstation.
