Further analysis of the dtrace shows the following :

CArchivingAgent::ProcessUser() |Archive/Journal Task ignored a Process Mailbox Message because the Process Mailbox mutex was locked and the mailbox is being processed by another thread.

 

Cause

MAPI profiles are being recycled for 3 days by default and sometimes the profiles becomes corrupt and the ArchivingAgent is unable to utilize that profile

Resolution

To remove the profiles that are no longer working see below:

  1. Stop all the Archiving Tasks.
  2. Open the Mail32 Profile Setup in Control Panel while logged into the EV  Server as the Vault Admin Service Account
  3. Click on the "Show Profiles" button
  4. Remove all the EV  generated profiles related to the Exchange Server that the task is archiving from
  5. Click OK to close the windows
  6. Start all the Archiving tasks

 The task should now be successfully archiving items from the mailbox

 

 

Issue/Introduction

Dtrace of the Journal or Mailbox Archiving Task does not show the Tasks scanning any messages in the Journal or in the users mailbox. However no errors are generated while the task is running.
