Cause
Virtual Vault may not contain the entire content of all items. When accessing items that have not been completely downloaded, the client requests the items from the Enterprise Vault (EV) server. In some instances where a user has a restriction on the size of Virtual Vault, the amount of data being requested will be large than the size allocated for Virtual Vault to grow, and fail to complete the copy operation.
Resolution
This is expected behavior of the client. Potential workarounds are as follows:
- Increase the size allocated to the Virtual Vault on the applicable client.
- Increase the size allocated to the Virtual Vault to all users within a policy
- Copy items in smaller batches
Issue/Introduction
Mass copy of data from Virtual Vault to another storage location, such as a PST, local machine, or originating mailbox can fail if the size of items which have to be added to Virtual Vault exceeds the space allocated by client or policy configuration
