Resolution

Solution 1:

Verify DNS resolution. If DNS resolution is not working, the following workaround may help:

  1. Open the hosts file on the Enterprise Vault Server (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers)
  2. Add the NETBIOS  name of the EV  Server or the alias you see in the event (EV-Server) and the IP address of the same.
  3. Save and exit the hosts file.
  4. Perform 'ipconfig /flushdns' and 'ipconfig /registerdns'.
  5. Start the Enterprise Vault Storage service.

Solution 2:

This issue can also occur when the LUN where the problematic partition is located is not connected to the server.
To resolve this issue in this scenario, connect the LUN to the server and restart the storage service to verify the errors no longer occur.

Note: If the drive is not seen properly by the OS then a chkdsk may need to be performed to allow the system to see the drive properly.
