Cause

When Vault Stores are in Backup Mode they are set to be Read Only. When the user tries to Archive an item it cannot be written to the Vault Store location.

This is often the result of a failed backup or if EV never came out of backup mode.

Resolution

This behavior is seen when the Vault stores are in Backup mode.

  • Clear the Backup mode on the Vault Stores and Index Locations.
  • Try to store items in archive again.
 

 

Issue/Introduction

When a user manually archives an item within Outlook, the Items Icons changes to the Enterprise Vault Pending Item as expected, but then reverts back to the normal Outlook icon within a few seconds.
