Cause
A mismatch between the Enterprise Vault (EV) binaries (i.e., exe and dll files) loaded on the CA/DA server and the primary EV Directory Service server can cause a communications issue that is reflected as a out of range error.
Resolution
All servers with the EV binaries (i.e., exe and dll files) in an EV site must match both the major and minor versions in order for CA and DA to be installed and function properly. Confirm the EV binaries version that is installed on all EV servers and compare with the EV binaries version installed on the CA or DA server. To obtain the EV binaries version, look in the registry on all EV, CA, and DA servers. The path and value label to view are as follows:
