Cause

This issue occurs if there is a problem registering the Discovery Accelerator Server dll files.

Resolution

There is an environmental issue preventing the Discovery Accelerator DLLs from properly registering. Discovery Accelerator will need to be installed on a different server. See the document Installing the Discovery Accelerator server software for full instructions.  The new server can be created from an existing base image or from the Microsoft Server installation media.  Use of the installation media is recommended to prevent any unexpected issues caused by a configuration that has been set within an image.

Prior to installing Discovery Accelerator on the new server, it is recommended that you uninstall the existing Discovery Accelerator application.

After the new Discovery Accelerator server is installed:

  1. Create or link to the current Discovery Accelerator configuration database (for example: EVDAConfiguration).
  2. Create or link to the current customer database (default: EVDiscovery)
  3. Install the Discovery Accelerator client to the new server
  4. Verify that archives are now available for searching

Issue/Introduction

The Discovery Accelerator client doesn't show any searchable archives, and may display the following error: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID failed due to the following error: 8007007f The Accelerator Processor places errors in the Event log with IDs 93, 302 and 451.
