Description:
The MigratorServer cannot start because the required version of MAPI is missing or incorrectly configured on the Enterprise Vault server:

To resolve the problem:

1. Stop all Enterprise Vault services and processes that are using MAPI.  
2. Ensure that a supported version of Microsoft Outlook is installed and correctly configured on the Enterprise Vault server.
3. Restart the Enterprise Vault services.

If the problem persists, see the "Troubleshooting" section of the Enterprise Vault Administration help file for guidelines on how to proceed.

Dtrace of MigratorServer will show the following information

(MigratorServer) <9904> EV:M {EVCommon::CheckMAPIVersion:#185} Unicode PST compatible MAPI [is not] installed.

(MigratorServer) <9904> EV:H {CExporter::StartWorking} (Exit) Status: [Unspecified error encountered during export operation. Please check the event log      (0x80041a85)]

The Enterprise Vault registry key UnicodePSTCompatibleMAPI is set to 0 on the Enterprise Vault server. By default the value is always set to 1.

1.  Open the Registry Editor on the Enterprise vault server.
   
   Warning: Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.
     
2. Navigate to the following location:

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \Wow6432Node \KVS \Enterprise Vault \Install

3. Locate UnicodePSTCompatibleMAPI and set its value to 1.
    
4. Restart the Enterprise Vault Task Controller service
    
5. Try the Export operation.
