Cause
The absence of the Enterprise Vault entries in the CAS' web.config file usually indicates that the Enterprise Vault OWA Extensions have not been installed, or they were not installed by a user with Administrator rights.
Resolution
To resolve OWA extension installation issue:
- Uninstall the OWA extensions
- Rerun the installer using an account with Administrator rights on the CAS machine.
- Once the installation is complete, verify that the web.config now contains the EnterpriseVault_LogEnabled and EnterpriseVault_ResourceVersion entries.
Note: EV OWA Buttons and Icons should now be visible for archive-enabled users. If they are not, set the EnterpriseVault_LogEnabled value to true (see Related Articles) to continue troubleshooting.
Issue/Introduction
Users on Exchange 2010 OWA do not have any Enterprise Vault toolbars, icons, or functionality. An examination of the web.config file on the CAS machine shows no Enterprise Vault entries. At minimum, the web.config should contain an entry named "EnterpriseVault_ResourceVersion."
