Resolution

A workaround to view (Unicode) CJK characters in the zip file and view the unicode characters in Excel 2007.

- Use WinRAR or 7zip utilities. WinRAR and 7zip are archiving programs like Winzip and support (Unicode) CJK characters with better accuracy then Winzip.

- When viewing the file_exception.csv file with CJK characters, open the file in Excel 2007 with the following steps...

1. Open Microsoft Excel 2007

2. Go To the Data tab

3. Click From Text under the Get External Data sections

4. Select the file_exception.csv and click Import

Issue/Introduction

Unable to view Unicode characters in Windows when exporting with Chinese, Japanese, and Korean (CJK) characters. When viewing the files within Winzip and Windows, the characters are not correct. When viewing the file_exception.csv file the characters do not display properly.
