Description

Occasions arise when the Service Tag of an appliance is needed to be provided to the appliance provider.  Prior to installation of the Veritas eDiscovery Platform powered by Clearwell (eDP) software, the service tag of the server will need to be known (particularly prevalent on machines where customers install their own hardware).

There are currently four methods to obtain the service tag as noted below.

Method One: Windows Management Instrumentation:

Run the following command from a command line on the server.

  • wmic csproduct get identifyingnumber

Note: Execution of the above command will require administrative privileges on the server.

Method Two: Physical Device -

  • The service tag label will usually be found on the back panel of the case.

Method Three: eDP is already installed:

1. Open a command shell
2. Navigate to  D:\CW\\bin
3. Execute the command cwst for the service tag to be returned.
