Cause

  • The CC or BCC field requires a comma to separate multiple email addresses
  • Improper use/formatting of a variable within any of the Legal hold fields

Resolution

  1. Check All Legal Hold default settings
    1. Navigate to All Legal Holds
    2. Click on Settings
    3. Verify the BCC, subject, body, etc have proper variables set
      1. Example of proper variable formatting: {HOLDNAME.EN_US}, {CUSTODIANNAME.EN_US}, {NOTICENAME.EN_US}, {CLEARWELLADMINEMAIL.EN_US}, {CLEARWELLADMINNAME.EN_US}.
  2. Navigate to the individual Legal Hold in question
    1. All Legal Holds > Legal Hold Name
    2. On Custodian / Admin Notice click on Edit (under Actions)
    3. Ensure only a comma is used to separate the email addresses in the CC or BCC field
    4. Ensure all variables are correctly formatted (see above)
  3. Re-try sending Custodian / System Admin Notice

Creating a custodian notice that fails to send out when the CC field is used or variable is incorrect.
