(MigratorServer) <5792> EV:H CVault::HandleVaultError CVault setup ErrorId : [0xC0041AE2], CLogErr EventId : [0xC0041AE2]
(MigratorServer) <5792> EV:H CVault::HandleVaultError Filtered Vault event log error(s): [2013-05-02T12:27:26+01:00 ID: 6835|Failed to extract CAB file.     Reason: The data is invalid.  (0x8007000d).    CAB File: F:\Enterprise Vault Stores\Vault Store Mail Ptn1\2013\04-24\5\Collection75.cab     |2013-05-02T12:27:26+01:00 ID: 6835|Failed to extract CAB file.     Reason: The data is invalid.  (0x8007000d).    CAB File: F:\Enterprise Vault Stores\Vault Store Mail Ptn1\2013\04-24\5\Collection75.cab     |]

Cause

The cause of this is usually seen to be corrupt CAB files in EV Storage.

To confirm this, find the Collectionxxxx.CAB file in the Event Logs\Dtrace and browse to the location in EV storage, then attempt to open the CAB file. If the CAB is corrupt then it will fail to open with an error similar to below (In the example above the path is F:\Enterprise Vault Stores\Vault Store Mail Ptn1\2013\04-24\5\Collection75.cab) :

‘Cannot open the cabinet file’

Resolution

Solution 1
Restore the corrupt cabs from a known good backup

Solution 2
Use a 3rd Party tool to repair the corrupt CAB files

Solution 3
If all other options have been tried and have failed then you can remove the offending CAB files from EV storage and run EVSVR to remove the references from the SQL Databases.

 ***IMPORTANT - THIS OPTION WILL REMOVE ARCHIVED DATA AND SQL DB REFERENCES FROM YOUR EV ENVIRONMENT****
 If you are unsure on how to do this correctly please contact Technical Support
