Cause

Enterprise vault server's alias do not have correct mapping with hostname.

Resolution

Enterprise vault servers must have correct mapping with DNS alias & associated host server in DNS server.

Alias                                               Host                          IP
EVserverAliasA.DOMAIN.COM   EVserverHostA    xx.xx.xx.xx
EVserverAliasB.DOMAIN.COM   EVserverHostB    xx.xx.xx.xx

  1. Make changes in DNS accordingly on DNS Server.
  2. Login to Enterprise Vault (EV) Server using Vault Service Account (VSA) credentials
  3. Flush the DNS cache using command IPConfig/flushdns on Enterprise Vault Server.
  4. Open Vault Admin Console (VAC), Right click on Enterprise vault servers, click on ‘Update Service location’.

Issue/Introduction

When user clicks on Enterprise Vault Servers container in Vault Admin Console, the console freezes and Event 1002 is logged in Application logs. Additionally, Enterprise vault services/task goes in Error mode, and EV functions such as archive/restore/search does not work.
