Cause

This is caused by a size quota in Windows placed on the share on the File Server that is targeted by the File System Archiving Task.  When a placeholder is double-clicked by a user, the original item is first sent back to its original location (where the placeholder resides).  If the folder's quota has been met, there is no space to recall and open the file in that location.

Resolution

Adjust the quota to allow more space, or disable it.  In most instances, the environment administrator has used Windows File Server Resource Manager to impose this quota or size limit on the share that contains the archived items.

Note:  To see if the files still indeed work and that the windows folder (share) is simply out of space, or for troubleshooting purposes, pass-through recall can be enabled for the target and volume within the Vault Administration Console.

Issue/Introduction

When recalling an archived file by double-clicking a placeholder, the File Server throws an error 20491 and fails to recall the item. The syntax in the error message cites "not enough space on disk." Checking all drives on the file server shows all volumes have ample space.
