Description
Error Message
No error message is associated with this.
Cause
This is caused by having a VaultID listed in the VaultID(s) field of the customer database, when only one customer database is present. Compliance Accelerator requires a blank VaultID(s) field when only one database is present and attached within the Administration web page. The blank field allows it to sample against all journal archives that it finds. If there are two databases present and attached, it would require one with a blank VaultID(s) field and the second database would require either an unique instance of DO_NOT_USE or a specific VaultID in the VaultID(s) field. Note that Random Sampling will not occur in any Customer without a blank or valid VaultID in the VaultID(s) field.
Resolution
Create a place holder database to stop sampling against the archive that is not required to be sampled.
- Log onto the Compliance Accelerator server as the Vault Service Account.
- Go to http://localhost/EVBAAdmin
- Right click the server name and select the New Customer option.
- Fill out all the fields as required. In the VaultID(s) field, make sure to specify the vault you do not want sampled.
- Click OK.
- Refresh the web page and newly created database with a left click.
- Watch for the State field value to be set to Installed and the Customer's tasks status to show as Running.
- Right click on the original customer database and select the Properties option.
- Remove anything from the VaultID(s) field so that it is blank.
- Click OK.
- Restart the Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager Service.
- Restart the Journal Task.
Applies To
Any version of Compliance Accelerator.
Issue/Introduction
Compliance Accelerator's random capture process captures email from an incorrect journal archive. This happens after adding a second journal archive to an existing environment.
