Description
Error Message
In a folder which is visible to a reviewer, the documents are not visible to the reviewer.
Cause
The documents are also in a folder which is restricted from the reviewer and case settings are preventing access.
Resolution
- Log in to the eDiscovery with case admin access
- Navigate to affected case.
- Click Processing
- Click Settings
- Change the Document Security setting from "If a document is in a non-accessible folder, it is not accessible in other folders a user can access" to "If a document is in a non-accessible folder, it is still accessible in other folders a user can access"
- Click Save
- Have the reviewer log in and confirm they can view the documents.
Note: this is a case level setting and may result in documents in other folders becoming visible to other reviewers that were previously not visible.
Issue/Introduction
A folder is populated with documents, an access profile is created for a reviewer to view only that folder and contents, however, documents are not visible when searching the folder.
The behaviour the user is experiencing contradicts the System Administration Guide, which states that a document should be visible if it is included in both a visible folder and a non-visible folder:
"If a document is assigned to both a visible and non-visible folder, the document is visible and can be viewed and searched."
