500 - Internal Server Error

Some McAfee applications install their own jscript.dll and vbscript.dll files and change related registries pointing to these .dll files.

Therefore the OS recognizes incorrect paths to some .dll files. Some of the Enterprise Vault web pages depend on the design of the original (Microsoft's) jscript.dll and vbscript.dll files, and they can't be executed properly by using McAfee's ones.

Symantec doesn't have a complete list of McAfee products /  versions which causes this issue. The issue described as above was reported against McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise (VSE) 8.8 patch 2 and it was fixed in the version 8.8 patch 4.

1. Uninstall the McAfee application which changes these registries, upgrade the McAfee application which causes the problem to the latest version.

2. If the issue remains (ONLY when the issue remains - the latest installer of McAfee applications MAY correct this problem automatically) after uninstalling or upgrading McAfee applications, the registries shown below need to be corrected Windows Registry Editor (regedit.exe).

Warning: Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.

Delete these entries i f the following ones exist.
