INFO  [esa.indexer.NEATextIndexer] Exception in attachment processing: [#194000] Error occurred with Linguistics Service. [#390000] Language processing error: Fatal exception in basis language processing

Gracefully shutting down the indexer due to fatal error in Linguistics processing [#390000] Language processing error: while trying to identify language boundaries

This error is caused due to the Basis utility folders not being present on the system. This can be because of an incomplete upgrade/install or just the basis folders simply missing from the system.

Examples:

D:\basis-7.2.1

D:\basis-7.2.1-x64
 

This issue can also occur if the basis license is expired. 

There are two solutions to this issue:

Option A. Copy the folders from another Clearwell server:

1. Stop eDP services via the Clearwell Utility Option 3 on the appliance desktop
2. Restore the folders from another server to affected servers
    D:\basis-7.2.1
    D:\basis-7.2.1-x64
    D:\Clearwell Packages
3. Start Clearwell services via the Clearwell Utility Option 4 on the appliance desktop
4. Index the data again by either restoring the case, prior to the original attempt to ingest the data or by ingesting the data again as a new Case Folder Source.

 
Option B. Run b install-packages to reinstall Basis program

1. Remove the registry entries for basis and basis64
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Clearwell\Packages
\basis
\basis64

2. Open a command prompt and navigate to D:\CW\VXXX according to installed version
3. Type: b install-packages
4. Restart eDP services via the Clearwell Utility Option 3 and 4 on the appliance desktop.
5. Index the data again by either restoring the case, prior to the original attempt to ingest the data or by ingesting the data again as a new Case Folder Source.
