The error 0x80070002 occurred whilst calling the method CExchangePolicy::PopulateFromDirectoryVaultObject().

Cause

Enterprise Vault client or Outlook add-ins installed on EV Server.

 

Resolution

This issue can be resolved by uninstalling the EV client or outlook add-ins from EV Server and re-running the EV binaries.

  1. Login to affected Enterprise Vault (EV) server using Vault Service Account (VSA) credentials.
  2. Go to Start >> Control Panel >> Add remove programs OR Programs and features.
  3. Locate Enterprise Vault client and uninstall.
  4. Reboot EV Server.
  5. Locate Enterprise Vault setup binaries and run the setup.

Issue/Introduction

When Enterprise Vault (EV) Journal Task starts processing journal mailbox, it keeps logging Event 2778 on EV Server.
