Winmail.dat file is created in place of original attachments when processing an EML file

Cause
This issue is caused by the following Metadata in the EML file which causes eDiscovery to create a file called winmail.dat in place of the original attachments:
Content-Type: application/ms-tnef; name="winmail.dat"
Resolution
To resolve this issue there are two options:
Option 1:
- Break out the attachments as separate items
- Process the items into eDiscovery
- Document families will not be maintained in this option
Option2:
- Use a third party program to convert the EML files to MSG or PST
- Process the new MSG files into eDiscovery
- Document families will be maintained in this option
Issue/Introduction
After processing an EML file that has attachments, a file may be produced that replaces the attachments in the Analysis & Review module. This file is called winmail.dat.
