Cause

When using Enterprise Vault 11.0.x with Domino Server 9 the execution of EVInstall.nsf creates its own copy of the forms files ev_forms9.nsf and ev_forms9_x.nsf.  The error Couldn't find design note - ev_CopyToMailFile occurs if the users have previously accessed iNotes with the mail database using the standard template mail9.ntf and standard forms9.nsf.

Domino Server stores the HTTP sessions in its own cache. In this case it is necessary to flush the http cache to allow the iNotes session to open properly.

Note: Mail databases previously using forms9.nsf needs to be re-initialized for the use of the newly customized forms ev_forms9.nsf and ev_forms9_x.nsf

Resolution

Flush the http cache on the Domino Server.

  1. Open the the Domino Server console
     
  2. Execute the command: tell http inotes flushforms

Issue/Introduction

Replacement of the template file from mail9.ntf to ev_mail9.ntf  results in failure to open INotes.
