When the PSTCrawler.exe hangs, the process is supposed to be terminated and restarted so it can continue the processing job. It seems like there is an issue with the Microsoft taskkill.exe that causes this process not to function normally.

Installing the following fix illustrated in MS KB 279840 has resolved the issue.

When running processing on a data source containing PST's, the job will hang indefinitely, and stray PSTCrawler.exe's can be seen in task manager.
D:\CW\V714\logs\PSTCrawler_Output.log displays out of memory errors.
