The custom properties definition file could not be found - custom property indexing and categorisation functionality has been disabled.
V-437-45324
Cause
This warning message will appear in the Enterprise Vault application log upon startup of the Journaling Task if the customer has custom filtering configured but has not configured custom properties. If custom properties are not used, the file will not be found and this warning occurs. The custom properties feature is an extension of custom filtering that enables Enterprise Vault to access and index additional message properties when archiving items.
Resolution
This message can be ignored, unless custom properties are configured for use with a custom filter.
To eliminate the Event 45324 warning message from occurring and filling the event log, perform the following steps:
In the 'Setting up Exchange Server Archiving' guide, in the 'Configuring custom filtering' section, there is a provided 'Example custom properties file'. When a Custom Properties Definition file is not required, this example file can be used to keep Event 45324 from occurring.
This file should be copied to the folder, 'Custom Filter Rules', in the Enterprise Vault installation folder (for example C:\Program Files(x86)\Enterprise Vault\Custom Filter Rules).
Restart the Journal task(s) after copying the file and no further occurrences of Event 45324 should appear in the event log.
A copy of the example file is attached below.
