If a license is specified during installation is within a folder with a .slf extension:
License copy error Could not copy C:\Program Files\Enterprise Vault\XXXXXXX.slf\XXXXXXX.slf to the Enterprise Vault Program folder. Please copy the file(s) manually and restart the Vault Admin Service
Event IDs: 4217, 4219
V-437-4217
V-437-4219
License files are distributed in a self-extracting archive that creates a directory with the same name as the file.
This issue can occur if the directory containing the license was copied to the install directory so that the directory containing the .slf file also has .slf in the name.
The following solution will permit the license file to be picked up by the Admin service upon service start-up.
Stop the Enterprise Vault Admin Service.
Remove the folders containing the license files to another location outside of the EV install directory. Once moved, copy the license files themselves to the EV install directory.
Start the Enterprise Vault Admin Service and monitor for Events.
Other Symptom:
Attempting to manually copy the file requests to overwrite a file with the same name and then produces an error or series of errors in Windows Explorer. One of the errors typically indicates that access is denied.
