After opening an Enterprise Vault (EV) archived message in Outlook, the Recall This Message and Resend This Message options are unavailable in the Actions menu.

Cause
The "Recall This Message" and "Resend This Message" functionality is dependent upon the Exchange Message Class. An Enterprise Vault Shortcut's message class is IPM.Note.EnterpriseVault and a regular mail item has a message class of IPM.Note. When attempting to use the Recall and Resend functionality, By Design Outlook is unable to perform the actions on the IPM.Note.EnterpriseVault message class.
Resolution
Workaround:
- If the EV clients are able to Restore from Vault:
Restore the message from the Vault before attempting to Recall or Resend the message.
- If the EV clients are not able to Restore from Vault:
Use the Forward button to forward the message.
