Check that the File Server is available and that you have the correct permissions to access the device.
Cause
Enterprise Vault Installing and Configuring guide described as below:
You can install the FSA Agent from the Administration Console. You will need to know the username and password of the Vault Service account. The Vault Service account must have administrator permissions on the remote server.
This requirement - Vault Service account must have administrator permissions on the remote server - is applied to FSA Volumes that are using placeholder service.
Resolution
Enterprise Vault Administrator can't add a new Volume under a File Server as a File System Archiving (FS A) target and get two dialog messages. First message is shown in Exact Error Message section. The other one is shown below.
An error occurred while listing policies.
Check that the Vault Directory Service is running and the computer is reachable on the network.
Error: Access is denied.
- Go to File server.
- Open Computer Management, Local Users and Groups, Groups.
- Select Administrators group, right click and open Properties.
- Press Add button to add Vault Service account user to the group.
Then try again to add a new FS A Volume through the Vault Administration Console (VAC).
