Verify the following and make adjustments to configuration:
- Ensure that the Journal Mailbox is not set up as a delegate.
- Configure email disclaimer applications so that Journal messages are not disclaimed.
Issue/Introduction
When users have requested read receipts, they receive a message from the Journal Mailbox that states "Your message was deleted without being read" in addition to the read receipt from the intended recipient. This can be a result of the following conditions:
- The Journal Mailbox is setup as a delegate of another mailbox and tracking options have been set to "Never send a response". (Tracking options are set in Outlook under Tools > Options > Preferences > E-mail Options > Tracking Options)
- Journal messages are being disclaimed by 3rd party applications. Some email disclaimer applications will recreate internal mails in order to add a disclaimer. This can cause the read receipts to show as deleted before read and sent from the Journal Mailbox.
