How to verify ODBC in Enterprise Vault:

1. Click Start - Programs - Administrative Tools - Data Sources (ODBC).

2. In the ODBC Data Source Administrator window Click on the System DSN tab.

3. Depending on the Enterprise Vault (EV) configuration there will be several EV related System Data Sources in the window.

4. Click on the top one and click the Configure button. If none are listed, click the Add button and choose what item to be tested such as SQL.

5. Click Finish.

6. In the ODBC Microsoft SQL Server Setup window, click on the Test Data Source button.

7. If the test completes successfully TESTS COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY, click OK twice.

8. Do the same thing for all of the EV data sources listed in the window and correct any problems that show up in the test.

Test using OLE DB:

1. On the EV server, create a file on the Desktop named Test.udl.

2. Double-click the file and choose the Provider tab. Ensure Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server is selected and click Next.

3. Select or enter the SQL server name, choose the log on method, and set the database to EnterpriseVaultDirectory and click Test Connection.  

4. A pop-up will occur showing Test connection succeeded if able to connect properly.
