Below are the step to disable/enable Vault Cache:
1. On the Enterprise Vault Server, open the Vault Administration Console.
2. Expand the Policies container.
3. Click on the Desktop Policy container.
4. In the right hand pane, Right Click on the Default Desktop Policy (or the desktop policy being used) and select Properties.
5. Click on the Vault Cache tab.
6. Uncheck/check the Make Vault Cache available for users box and Click OK. All other options are configurable depending on requirements.
7. Synchronize the mailboxes on the Synchronization tab of the mailbox archiving task.
Note: Once the setting is cleared, no new vault cache are created. Users have access to their existing vault cache, but Enterprise Vault adds no new items to those cache.
