Cause
These scenarios can be symptoms of a Provisioning task not configured properly.
"Provisioning Task" scheduled set to run only 1 once per day, and it is set to run AFTER a "Mailbox Archiving Task"
Example:
- Create user account 8 am on day 1 and has been added to a "Provisioning Group"- no archive
- "Mailbox archive task" runs 6pm till 7:30pm on day 1- no archive
- "Provisioning task" runs 12 am midnight on day 2 - no archive (only mailbox enabled)
- Work day 8am to 5pm on day 2 - no archive
- "Mailbox Archive task" runs 6pm to 7:30pm on day 2- ARCHIVE CREATED
- "Provisioning task" runs 12 am on day 3 - Archive already exist
- Work day 8am - 5pm on day 3 - Now Enterprise Vault administrator can see the users archive
As you can see, if the provisioning task is set improperly, it may take up until 2 business days to be able to see it.
Resolution
- Schedule the "Provisioning Task" to run twice a day. (IE. 12 hours apart)
- If "Provisioning Task" can only be ran once per day, make sure it is just 1 to 3 hours BEFORE the "Mailbox Archive Task" runs.
Applies To
- Provisioning Task runs, but users are not Provisioned in a timely manner.
- New users are not archiving with no error message or error code.
- Created a new user account, added him to a Provisioning group and by the next day, users archive is not created.
