How to configure Enterprise Vault (EV) Compliance Accelerator (CA)/Veritas Advanced Surveillance (VAS) searches to exclude messages tagged by any classification process for exclusion.
Any classification process that works with EV, such as Veritas Information Classifier (VIC), can be configured to exclude messages from specific senders or with specific text. This exclusion is intended to exclude messages from any Random Capture processing by CA/VAS. There may be a need to run a search in CA/VAS that will also exclude messages with this exclusion tagging.
By default, the only listing available in the Policies section's Policy field is the
In CA/VAS versions earlier than 14.3, all other policies used within the EV environment are not populated for selection until after a CA search has been run within any Department or Research Folder. This includes any inclusion or exclusion policies as these will only become available after such an initial search has been run. The search does not need to be accepted in order to populate the listing of available policies. Likewise, any new policies introduced in the EV environment will not be added to the selection listing until a search has been run after the new policies have been introduced.
In CA/VAS version 14.3 and newer, first, the tag has to be associated with an active policy and items in EV archives must have that policy applied. Then CA/VAS will synchronise the policies/tags after which they will be listed under Policies in searches.
Set the search criteria as normal, then expand the Policies section and set the policy settings as follows:
1) Policy Type: Ignore exclusions
2) Policy: < All>
