Resolution

This can occur if any of the following are not set correctly:
  • The order of the provisioning group.
  • The default vault store and default indexing service are not set.

Resolution:
1. Open the Enterprise Vault Administration Console.

2. Expand Enterprise Vault Servers.

3. Right-click on the server that holds the mailbox archiving task and select Properties. (Figure 1)

4. Select the Archiving Defaults tab and specify the Default Vault Store and the Default Indexing Service. (Figure 2)

Once the Default Vault Store and Default Indexing Service are set, verify the order of the provisioning groups as outlined within article in the Related articles section of this article.

These changes will be reflected when the next archiving task runs, the archiving task is responsible for enabling the mailboxes at the beginning of the next scheduled timeframe.
