Description
Error Message
"Access Denied' opening EV\EV_00*.nsf. The database does not exist.
Cause
When attempting to retrieve archived emails from Lotus Notes shortcuts, Lotus Notes generates an "access denied" error referencing a database called EV_0*.nsf (where "*" is a series of numbers). The database does not exist.
These databases are temporary databases used by Enterprise Vault. If there is one or more becomes corrupted, this can prevent Enterprise Vault from successfully retrieving any other messages.
Resolution
Note: When performing step 2, DO NOT delete the EV_Admin.nsf and the EVDomino.nsf files.
1. Stop the Domino server service on the Enterprise Vault Domino Gateway (EVDG).
2. Delete all ev_0*.nsf and blank*.nsf databases from the \[data path]\EV directory
3. Start the Domino server service.
Issue/Introduction
Users using the Lotus Notes client cannot retrieve archived emails. "Access Denied" errors are generated.
