Resolution

There are several reason that the above error can happen. The most common is that the old checkpoint location is no longer valid or has lost it's permissions. In order to resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Logon to the Enterprise Vault server that hosts the File System Archiving Task in question,

  2. Browse to the Enterprise Vault  installation folder (for example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault\),

  3. Create a new sub-folder (for example: FSATaskCheckPoint_Server1\ )

  4. Make Sure the Vault Service Account (VSA) has full permissions.

  5. Stop the associated File System Archiving task in the Vault Admin Console.

  6. Modify the Checkpoint folder location on the task to match the new folder.

  7. Copy the contents of the old folder into the new folder.

  8. Start the File System Archiving Task.
