Overview:

When clicking on the Departments tab in the Enterprise Vault (EV) Compliance Accelerator (CA) Client, 2 panels appear below the tab bars.  The left panel displays the 'All Departments' selection, followed by all top level Departments.  The right panel shows a listing of all top level Departments when the 'All Departments' selection is highlighted, or it shows the properties of which ever Department is selected in the left panel.

When clicking on the Departments tab, the above error may be thrown in a pop-up box, with the left panel not showing any Departments and the right panel showing the listing of all top level Departments.  Double clicking on a Department in the right panel also fails with a similar pop-up error.  A dtrace of the AcceleratorService process while encountering this issue and attempting to double click on a Department in the right panel would have lines similar to these:

Closing and re-opening the CA Client does not resolve this issue and the cache on the CA Server appears to be corrupted.

Solution:

Restart the Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager Service (EVAMS) on the CA server.
