When archived items are restored back to the exchange mailbox, they will be re-archived based on the Archived Date property as opposed to the Sent/Received Date which will extend the length of time based on the archiving policy. This feature can by bypassed by using the IgnoreEVDates registry key to tell the Archiving Task to ignore this property when evaluating messages eligibility for archiving.
