Error Message
The IGC Job log reports the following error:
D:\CW\V7x\scratch\exttemp\esadb_EDPAPPLIANCE_NEW\dataStore_case_a6isc7bozp_50373373\cache02\NetitDocAttLdr\aa4\73f\d8ebe9ab9ae012ea48ebd08e1f\d00\1.xdl
Failed to write to an IPC Port: The pipe is being closed. This likely means that the system had a fatal error while processing the file
Exception processing file publish_error
Cause
The Word document includes some macros. If you open the Word document manually, and select “Enable Content”, this triggers the macros to run, but there is an issue with the macro, and an error window is popped-up.
IGC obviously doesn’t expect this window to pop-up, hence there is a rendering timeout. The issue is not so much caused by the macro itself, but is to do with the Clearwell appliance – when the Word document tries to run the macro, Word fails to find a dependent Microsoft DLL that is required to run the macro (MSSOAP30.DLL).
Resolution
The workaround for v714 is to place a copy of this DLL (MSOAP30.DLL) so that it can be found. The issue only happens with Office 2003 documents.
Issue/Introduction
Office 2003 Word documents cannot be opened in Native View when the user tries to review them. No error is reported. The source file can be opened and downloaded, and it has processed without any errors.
