Cause

Enterprise Vault Storage Service failed to start when tries to validate the Enterprise Vault partitions:

Resolution

  1. Log into the Enterprise Vault server using the Enterprise Vault Service account.
  2. Open the Enterprise Vault Admin Console.
  3. Go to the Directory properties and select the Service Account tab.
  4. Re-apply Enterprise Vault Service account password.
  5. Restart the Enterprise Vault services.

 

NOTE:

If the Enterprise Vault server is clustered move the EV resources to the node where services are failing then re-enter the VSA credentials.

Issue/Introduction

Enterprise Vault Storage service does not start. The service only produces event ID 6222 "Storage Service stopped" and no errors are generated.

Event ID 6221 "Storage Service started (10.0.4.1354)" is not generated when the service is started.
