Cause
There are currently no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in the current or previous versions of the software at the present time. While this issue may be resolved in a future major revision of the software at a later time, it is not currently scheduled for any release. If you feel this issue has a direct business impact for you and your continued use of the product, please contact your Veritas Sales representative or the Veritas Sales group to discuss these concerns.
Resolution
To prevent this issue, the user is recommended to explicitly save each redaction using the save icon in the UI (Figure 3).

Issue/Introduction
A user creates a redaction on a document and then navigates away from the document, for example, by running a saved search. The user is prompted to save their redaction (Figure 1). When the user clicks "Yes" to save the redaction, an error is reported in the Clearwell server log and the redaction is not saved.

version 81 or newer, an error is displayed in the UI (Figure 2). When using a Clearwell version older than 81, an error is not always displayed in the UI if this is the first redaction being added to the document.

The following scenarios have been identified which can result in this issue:
Scenario 1
- Create a redaction
- Do not explicitly save the redaction.
- Run a saved search to switch to a different document, where the new document is not the first document in the corpus.
Scenario 2
- Create a redaction.
- Do not explicitly save the redaction.
- Run an "All Corpus" search.
Scenario 3
- Run an "All Corpus" search while in redaction view.
- Navigate past the first document by clicking the ">" button.
- Create a redaction.
- Do not explicitly save the redaction.
- Run a saved search to switch to a different document. The saved search must return only a single document.
Scenario 4
- Create a redaction.
- Do not explicitly save the redaction.
- Click on "Case Home", "Legal Holds", "Collections" or "System" links.
