This occurs when there are user mailboxes on exchange servers that are either not targeted for archiving and/or not operational (offline) that are part of Provisioning Groups. When the Provisioning task runs, it will attempt to connect to the associated exchange server to read properties of the mailbox, etc and will fail thus causing the event.
1. Configure the Provisioning task reporting to Full. This is done on the Reports tab when viewing the properties of the task.
2. Review the most current Provisioning report and search for the error as reported in the event. This will show the user account affected. This report can be located at: <Install_path\Programs Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault\Reports\Exchange Provisioning
3. Once all the affected users are identified, remove them from the Provisioning Group(s) so they will not attempt to be processed.
Note: If the user accounts are part of an Active Directory (AD) Group or Distribution List and those groups are targeted by a Provisioning group, they may need to be removed from the AD groups, or the AD group would need to be removed as a target in the Provisioning group. Either option will work depending on how the administrator chooses to configure this.
