The following event will be generated during archiving runs.

Event ID 3412:The task found migrated Domino shortcuts in an Exchange Server mailbox that have not been processed by the post-migration utility. These shortcuts will not function correctly until the post-migration utility has been run.

Prior to Enterprise Vault (EV) 9.0 SP1 orphaned shortcut deletion was not available in EV for Domino. In an EV for Domino environment where storage expiry was configured orphaned shortcuts would be left in the user's mail file. When the orphaned Domino shortcuts are subsequently migrated to Exchange and then converted with the EVDominoMigration tool with the -po default the orphaned shortcuts will fail to convert reporting the Event ID 6287. Subsequently, Exchange mailbox archiving runs will report Event ID 3412 when attempting to archive these items.

Solution 1:

Recommend upgrading to EV 14.1.1 and running orphaned shortcut deletion against the Domino mail files prior to migrating them to Exchange.

Solution 2:

In the event that the migration from Domino to Exchange is well under way or completed it will be necessary to run the EVDominoExchangeMigration Tool with the switch -po none. This will successfully convert the migrated shortcuts in the users Exchange mailbox. Then run orphaned shortcut deletion for Exchange to delete the orphaned shortcuts.
