Cause

Possible corruption of the cache.ndk file of the Lotus Notes installed on the Enterprise Vault Domino Gateway (EVDG)

Resolution

TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS:

     1) Check for the Event Id 6287 as described above
     2) Run Dtrace with nserver and StorageOnlineOpns processes capturing a failed retrieval
     3) Check Dtrace for following:

(StorageOnlineOpns) <9984 EV:M NotesRuntimeHelper::IsInitializedOnMainThread - could not open event [EV~NRH~MAINTHREAD~6d0] - The system cannot find the file specified.  (0x80070002)

(StorageOnlineOpns) <9984> EV:M CBinaryDominoSaveset::LoadEVNoteStreamFromSaveset - error: Notes runtime was not initialized

     4) Stop all Enterprise Vault services
     5) Stop the Domino server service
     6) Locate and delete the file called "Cache.NDK" from the Lotus Notes \Data folder  (typically in x:\program files (x86)\IBM\Lotus\Notes\Data\
     7) Reboot the server
     8) Make sure the EV Services and Domino Service are started after the reboot
     9) Open Lotus Notes (so a new Cache.NDK is created) and check if the retrieve is resolved
