Description
Error Message
*** Error *** - There is duplicate of this item in the archive.
Cause
During archiving processing, in order to determine if a file has already been archived in previous runs, the stored procedure GetArchivedItemProperties is called using, not only the file name, but also other variables with values uniquely calculated that apply to that particular file.
The method used to determine if the item that has already been archived has changed across different versions of EV, therefore, it may occur that duplicate records are created.
Resolution
In order to address this issue it is necessary to perform updates to SQL references. Please contact Technical Support via a new Support Case.
Issue/Introduction
Files that have been previously archived and converted to placeholders, if recalled, may fail to be reverted to placeholders. This could happen with environments where FSA has been used with earlier versions and upgraded to a more recent version. It is possible that across different versions of Enterprise Vault (EV) the same file may have been re-archived to a new Saveset record. In this case, when the Archiving Task processes the file system, an error is reported alerting that a duplicate record exists in the database.
