Description:
The PST migration failed because mailbox 'Doe,John' has not been provisioned. Check that the mailbox is in a provisioning group, run the provisioning task, and then try the migration again.

Cause

There are three possible causes for this error: 

  1. The mailbox was moved to a new Provisioning Group and not updated correctly
  2. The mailbox does not belong to a Provisioning Group
  3. The Active Directory (AD) user account and mailbox were deleted

 

Resolution

For Cause 1 and 2, perform the following: 

  1. Add the mailbox to a Provisioning Group
  2. Perform a 'Run Now' in Normal mode on the Provisioning Task
  3. Import the PST

 

For Cause 3, there are two options:

  1. Create a Shared archive and import the PST to it and grant the proper permissions to users that need to search the archive
  2. Recreate the AD account and mailbox

a. Add to a Provisioning group

b. Perform a 'Run Now' in Normal mode on the Provisioning Task

c. Run the Enable Mailbox wizard and assign the account to the original archive

Note: If you do not choose the original archive, it will create a new archive

d. Run the import once again
