Error Message

Start Discovery ... State: ERROR, Last Status: Mailbox discovery of following source(s) failed: Source Name - Clearwel 2 Reason - java.io.IOException: Error getting vaults: ERR Failed to get repository list - unable to connect to DOMINO server using account \\pathtoid\clearwel.id. Error: 0

Cause

In a few cases it has been found that the ID file used for the Lotus Domino server connection was bad.

Resolution

Before implementing the solution below a few items need to be checked as follows:

  1. Lotus Notes installed on the Clearwel server should be successfully initialized by the account login on the EsaApplication and (2) NSF services.
  2. A Trace to the Lotus Domino server in Lotus Notes needs to be successfully connected using the account login on the EsaApplicaiton and (2) NSF services.
  3. ID file used to make the connection both in the initialization of Lotus Notes by the account login on the EsaApplication and (2) NSF services needs to be accepted by the Lotus Domino server. This can be accomplished by the Lotus Domino administrator.

If all of the aforementioned steps have been taken and a Lotus Domino server connection is unsuccessful, a new ID file will need to be generated by the Lotus Domino administrator. After replacing the ID File with an ID file accepted by the Lotus Domino server, the connection to the Lotus Domino server and discovery was successful.

Issue/Introduction

In the process of setting up Lotus Domino server discovery, an ID File is required to securely connect to the Lotus Domino server. If the ID file is not accepted at the Lotus Domino server, the attempted connection will fail. At this point, an error message is seen at the top of the of the configuration window. To setup Lotus Domino discovery the steps taken are as follows:
  1. Go to System > Email Servers.
  2. Choose Lotus Domino from the Select Server/Archive source to discovery menu.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Complete the info required for a Lotus Domino connection. Note: This is where the ID File needs to be selected.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click Start Discovery. Note: At this point, the discovery should either succeed or fail.
