Cause

When multiple sites are consolidated by way of manual SQL changes, the Move Archive process will identify that the Archive to be moved is an Intra-site (Within the same site) Move. During the retrieval process of the archived items from the source, a number of checks are performed on the data to confirm consistency of the data.  One property which is checked is the ArchiveID associated to the physically stored item, which contains the original Site information. In this scenario, this information may differ from the current Site within the database.

Due to this inconsistancy, Move Archive identifies the items to be moved to be in a different site than the destination.  This is considered an Inter-site move (site to site) which uses a different process to move data than an Intra-site move.

Resolution

When encountering this scenario, Move Archive may not be used to migrate Archives between legacy sites after said sites have been consolidated.  In order to move archives, it is required to export the archive to PST.

Issue/Introduction

During a Move Archive, in an environment which has been consolidated from multiple Sites via SQL, moving items may fail when moving to a Vault Store which was originally in a separate site. This will fail the Move Archive for said user.
