In this scenario saveset 201304055189348~201304051915060000~Z~C12F6FBA347A3741393F24FA1BC7D851 was attempting to recombine with a SIS part that exists in another Cab.

Cause

This issue is due to the inability of EVSVR to clean up references to parts that are in a lost CAB file when being referenced by a saveset in a known good CAB file.

Resolution

There are currently no plans to address this issue by way of a hotfix or cumulative hotfix in the current or previous versions of the software at the present time. This issue may be resolved in a future major revision of the software at a later time. However, this particular issue is not currently scheduled for any release. If you feel this issue has a direct business impact for you and your continued use of the product, please contact your Veritas Sales representative or the Veritas Sales group to discuss these concerns. For information on how to contact Veritas Sales, please see https://www.veritas.com

Issue/Introduction

EVSVR is not cleaning up references in cab files that point to a part in another cab file that is no longer available. As a result retrievals, dumpsaveset, and EVSVR verifications will generate errors. This occurs even when BlackListBadSISParts and DeleteSurplusReferences is run successfully. As a result if a saveset exists in (i.e. Collection2.CAB) and it is referencing a part (i.e. attachment) in another Cab file (i.e. Collection1.CAB) that does not exist the EVSVR utility will not clean up the references, a dumpsaveset and retrievals of the saveset will also fail.
